Threading tools for the production of nuts - BASS as partner for the production of internal threads

26.02.2018

At this year’s wire fair, BASS sets the focus on the machining of internal threads within fastening elements. Process reliability and high quality determine excellently produced nuts. Not least because of the fastening elements’ various basic materials, the selected forming process, the required tolerances and further operating conditions, manufacturers face the challenge to find the best tool solution.

AMGB_cartridge_shank.jpgAs a specialist for the machining of internal threads, BASS presents innovative solutions for the production of nuts at the WIRE 2018 in Hall 15 booth G15.

High-quality materials, adapted geometries and new coatings provide for thread cutting and roll tapping with high cutting speed and therefore lead to an increase in performance. The lower machining time and high tool life reduce the production costs.

With the DURAMAX-family, BASS offers a thread forming tool in all standard dimensions for a process reliable machining. New coatings specifically tailored to the particular application, for example the innovative BT-coating, lead to higher tool life.

The combination of threading tool and reamer is perfectly suitable for the production of union nuts. Threads for union nuts therefore can be manufactured in a reversing tapping cycle. The tools with reamer are customized for each application individually. They convince with high tool life and consistent process reliability.

DURAMAX K RZ.jpgBASS has developed a tool solution consisting of three components for the fully automated production of nuts in a run-over tapping process.  This three-part system – as it has been realized with the AMGB V – captivates by its reusability of shank and threading tool.

The cartridge connects the tap nip with the bent shank. The cartridge as predetermined breaking point ensures that – even under high torque as a result of tool wear – the assembly of shank and tap is intentionally disconnected so that both elements are reusable.
