Production is becoming in!
We were deeply disappointed with the ceremonial opening of the BIAM and Welding fairs at the Zagreb Fair on the last Tuesday in April, that is, with the visit of the Zagreb mayor to the exhibition stands. Specifically, Tomislav Tomašević did not even stop at the Zadar HSTec stand, the only Croatian exhibitor at BIAM that actually manufactures and exports machine tools. It is clear to us that Tomašević, a political scientist by profession, certainly does not know what motor spindles from Zadar are, nor is he particularly interested in the fact that HSTec held the premiere of a universal robot cell for serving machines from its own development at the fair. Still, it would be a good idea for the organizers of the fair or his protocol to mention to him that the company that earned HRK 80 million last year with its own intelligence, work and effort, of which HRK 46 million came from exports isa at least worthy of a handshake with its director. Scan head with beam shaper increases throughput in fuel cell production
SCANLAB GmbH together with its sister companies Blackbird Robotersysteme GmbH and Holo/Or Ltd. is developing promising new system concepts for laser applications such as laser welding of bipolar plates and additive manufacturing (metal 3D printing). By integrating tailored beam shapers, the novel scan setup showed the potential to nearly double the productivity of welding bipolar plates for hydrogen fuel cells.

Laboratory analyzes of lubricants
Lubricant users are always interested in the condition of the lubricant in use. Most often, for this purpose, we take a sample of the lubricant, analyze it in a chemical laboratory and determine the condition based on the results of the analysis. Then, if necessary, we can carry out appropriate maintenance procedures, such as, for example, oil filtering, changing the filling, and the like. We wrote about sampling in the previous article Basic School of Lubrication, and now we will describe the laboratory analyzes of the lubricant samples taken.
3D SLS printer Formlabs Fuse 1 and printing of spare parts
When 3D-printing a product, we are often limited by two things - the performance of the material and the limitations of the 3D-printing technology. We can overcome these two limitations by choosing a different material and a different 3D-printing technology. In such cases, a conversation is often started about printers, which work on the basis of SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) technology. For many years, SLS printers were only available to large companies with large budgets. This is now changing, because there are several new SLS printers on the market, which provide all the advantages of SLS-printing at a very moderate price. Among them is the latest printer from Formlabs, which is called Fuse 1.

A multi-stage fine boring tool for the highest precision
Tornos AG is a renowned Swiss manufacturer of machine tools that stand out for their quality and durability. In some bar turning shops today, Tornos machines are still in use that are actually older than many of the employees who operate them. This is proof of the company’s high standards of precision and quality in the manufacture of the essential key components of its machines. This is why these parts are always machined in-house. A special multi-stage fine boring tool developed by MAPAL has been proving its worth.
