Efficient entry-level Fiber laser cutting with Mazak

Yamazaki Mazak's OPTIPLEX NEXUS 3015 FIBER range has been designed specifically for customers who want to introduce Fiber laser capability into their manufacturing operations, but have no previous experience.

180902-P1The machine, which is available in 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0kW Fiber laser variants, is 10% smaller than comparable machines, making it suitable for machine shops with a limited floorspace. The low footprint is possible due to the revolutionary positioning of the resonator above the electric cabinet which enables a compact design with no impact on the table size which, at 3050mm x 1525mm, remains equal to competitor machines in its class.

The machine's fiber beam delivery system can significantly lower operating costs for applicable material thicknesses and types, while sensors built into the Multi-Control Torch are able to monitor piercing and cutting operations to improve part quality. If an anomaly is detected, the operation is adjusted or paused to automatically achieve effective cutting conditions.

The OPTIPLEX NEXUS 3015 FIBER also offers a large side access door and benefits from an automated 2-pallet design with a robust helical rack and pinion positioning system, to facilitate fast through-put of work pieces to deliver maximum performance.

Despite being an entry-level machine, the OPTIPLEX NEXUS 3015 FIBER is equipped with a range of intelligent functions rarely offered in a machine of its class. These include Intelligent Set-up Functions, such as Beam Diameter Control, Focus Detection, and Auto Nozzle Cleaning and Changing, as well as Intelligent Monitoring Functions, such as Piece, Plasma and Burn Detection. The machine is also capable of Fine Power Ramping and Flash Cut Intelligent Cutting Functions.

The machine is easily programmed via the Mazak Smart Junior CAD/CAM system, which reduces set-up times and increases productivity. It also allows users to create accurate drawings while preparing the geometry for processing at the same time.
