AMKmotion: New Managing Director

05.03.2021

• Stefan Buchner assumes leadership of AMKmotion GmbH + Co KG
• Managing Director with international experience in the drive industry
• Global drive specialist AMKmotion is a "member of the Arburg family"

As of 1 March 2021, AMKmotion GmbH + Co KG will have a new Managing Director in the person of Stefan Buchner. The company, an international technology leader in the electric drive technology, control technology, and industrial automation engineering sectors, has been a “Member of the Arburg family” since it was taken over by the Arburg entrepreneurial families Hehl and Keinath. AMKmotion will now be headed by a proven industry expert with many years of international experience in the relevant business fields.

Stefan Buchner studied mechanical engineering at Regensburg University of Applied Sciences and then gained experience in the industrial production and planning environment. Before joining AMKmotion, the 39-year-old worked for several years at a medium-sized company in the field of drive systems, controller technology, and automation. In a managerial position, he was responsible for the Development, Production and Quality Management departments, among others.

Well positioned for the future

With this background, Stefan Buchner is ideally placed to continue AMK's long-standing success story and to further develop AMKmotion in the interests of the Arburg entrepreneurial families Hehl and Keinath. Their goal in taking over the company was not only to secure the existence of AMK and its customer and supplier relationships for the long term, but also to use future developments to expand existing customer relationships and acquire new ones.

Comprehensive offering significantly expanded

AMKmotion's addition to its logo – "Member of the Arburg Family" – is a striking nod to the company's new status. By making this important acquisition, the Lossburg-based machine manufacturer is continuing its extremely successful historical path of managing and expanding all core competencies and their associated areas of expertise in-house – enabling the company to independently develop and manufacture all important core components of its products itself in a strategically oriented and sustainable manner. Arburg has thus once again significantly expanded its position with regard to end-to-end solutions. This now encompasses machines, application technology, hardware and software for control systems, drive systems, robotic systems, and peripheral equipment.
